Did you have to postpone your wedding day?
If you had to do this my heart goes out for you. On the account of the coronavirus and the devastating lockdown, a huge number of couples have sadly had to postpone their wedding day, as if the emotions of planning one of the biggest days of your life was not stressful enough?
Do you feel guilty for feeling down?

You would have been looking forward and tallying the days, weeks, months to your big day however expressing your sadness during this time may be greatly overlooked by the global fear and the tragic loss of lives which will perhaps leave you feeling guilty. But hey, you are only human and may have already been experiencing the highs and lows of wedding planning but now this..
You may have spent endless hours cramming in searches for your vendors, your perfect venue, to painstakingly choosing your guestlist. This all comes with an additional set of emotions such as nervousness, stress, rolled with excitement! It is therefore unsurprising if you feel like you want to scream with frustration. I feel your pain!
Setting the date
If you chose a specific date and have been told to simply postpone it doesn’t exactly mean everything is okay, does it?
Some may have planned the date to tie in perfectly with a memory or forthcoming event such an engagement proposal, birthday, or new birth. There could be many reasons for choosing it however to have your date suddenly removed with such a great amount depending on it, must be terribly upsetting and as much as we are grateful for our lives, it does not stop us from feeling bitterly disappointed with the turn of events!
I want you to know it is okay to feel sad however, talking to someone who knows what you are going through may be just what you need right now!
I really feel for everyone this year including my daughter who was very much looking forward to celebrating her 30th birthday but ended up spending it very differently to how she wanted to. Her heart was totally set on her special winter sun-holiday and this was a similar tone to most who had a special event this year. If I could have given her those wishes I would have. I have just the same feelings for all my clients who had to alter their wedding in some way.
Once you have developed such a close bond with your clients it becomes very sad to see their plans stopped in their tracks and the coronavirus has made a good job of that. However, I have every faith that my daughter and my clients will go on to celebrate and have an even more meaningful day when this is all over!
