PRIVACY POLICY
Valentine Weddings UK (i.e. “VWUK”) is owned and operated by Sharon Valentine. It is registered in the United Kingdom as Sharon Valentine t/a Valentine Weddings UK registered office is at 20-22, Wenlock Road, Islington N1 7GU.
PURPOSE
VWUK is committed to maintaining the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of its customers’ personal information. This Privacy Policy describes the personal information that VWUK collects from or about its customers, how it uses that information, and to whom it is disclosed.
This Policy is to comply with the privacy requirements established by the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), and the U.K. Data Protection Act of 1988. It supports VWUK’s need to collect information from its customers as necessary for its’ performance of business services and functions, while also recognizing a customer’s right to have their information handled in a manner that protects the privacy of their personal information.
For purposes of this Policy, a customer may also be referred to as “you” or “your.”
COMMENCEMENT
This Policy will commence from 1st May 2018. It replaces all other policies relating to the use of a customer’s personal data, whether such a policy was made in writing or oral.
APPLICATION
This Policy applies to all customers of VWUK.
INFORMATION COLLECTED
VWUK only collects information that is necessary for one or more of its legitimate business functions or activities. The information VWUK collects from its’ customers may include:
- Full legal name;
- Permanent and mailing address(es);
- Bridal pick-up address;
- Date of birth;
- Marital status;
- Citizenship status (U.K./non-citizen);
- Primary telephone number;
- Financial information;
- Any other information that is necessary for VWUK to perform its services to you.
The information collected is considered “personal data” as defined by Article 4(1) of the GDPR.
SHARED INFORMATION
VWUK will never sell your personal information, although it may be shared from time to time, and only when necessary to perform a legitimate business function with VWUK’s vendors and business partners. Shared data will be disclosed in accordance with Articles 13 and 14 of the GDPR.
HOW INFORMATION IS USED
VWUK collects personal information from its customers so that it may perform its business functions and provide services to the customer. VWUK will process your personal data in compliance with the GDPR. VWUK may use a customer’s personal information to perform the following:
- To conduct billing activities and ensure timely payment of services to VWUK, its vendors, and its business partners;
- To allow vendors to provide business services in accordance to a customer’s contract;
- To allow VWUK’s employees or representatives to provide business services in accordance to a customer’s contract;
- Any other legitimate business functions or activities.
VWUK may also process your personal data when required to do so by law.
INFORMATION COLLECTION REGARDING CHILDREN
VWUK does not knowingly collection personal information regarding children under the age of thirteen (13) unless it is with the prior written permission of the child’s legal guardian or parent. Collection of information regarding children is used only for the purpose of wedding planning, i.e. ring bearers; junior bridesmaids and grooms; ushers; flower girl. Personal information regarding children in a wedding party is used strictly by VWUK staff members and employees and is never shared with third-parties.
RETENTION OF PERSONAL DATA
VWUK will store and delete a customer’s personal data in compliance with Article 5 of the GDPR and the U.K. Data Protection Act of 1988. VWUK maintains its customers’ personal data on Aisle Planner software, which is protected by login security and restricted access. Upon final payment for services, a customer’s personal data will be archived on the Aisle Planner software in compliance with Article 5(1)(e) of the GDPR. Only employees of VWUK have access to this information.
YOUR RIGHTS
The GDPR and the U.K. Data Protection Act of 1988 was created to protect your privacy rights. You have the right to access, rectify, object to, or erase the data maintained by VWUK (pursuant to Articles 12 – 23 of the GDPR). You may request a change to your personal data by contacting VWUK by telephone, email, or mail correspondence.

If you believe VWUK’s processing of your personal data infringes data protection laws, you have a legal right to initiate a complaint with a supervisory authority responsible for data protection in accordance with Article 77 of the GDPR.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
VWUK retains all rights, title and interest to its website; social media sites; app; their code and content. This material is considered our property and “Intellectual Property: which is protected by copyrights, trademarks, service marks, patents, trade secrets or other proprietary rights and laws both in the U.K. and internationally.
In addition, VWUK retains all rights, title, and interest, to photographs; pictures; videos; and any other digital recordings either recorded; created; or produced; by VWUK’s owners, employees, staff, agents, and/or business partners. Clients, wedding guests and attendees, as well as service providers and business partners grant us an unlimited, royalty-free, world-wide license to make; use; reproduce; alter; change; or transmit any images or other digital recordings for any and all legitimate and legal business purposes.
Users and visitors warrant not to infringe upon these rights and to abide by and agree to all applicable copyright and trademark laws; copyright notices; logos; service marks; and any restrictions contained in any content contained within our website; social media sites; or app.
LIMITED LIABILITY
Users, visitors, and customers acknowledge and agree to hold VWUK, their owners, officers, employees, and agents harmless from any errors or omissions contained in any: file; message; email; electronic message; or any communication where information was shared by a user, customer, or visitor, and that information was incorrect; in error; or otherwise modified without our knowledge, consent, or under our control.
Messages, emails, and other communications are not considered “private”, therefore data and information voluntarily supplied by a customer, visitor, or website user is done so at their own risk. VWUK values our clients’ privacy but does not accept liability or responsibility for the transmission of data or information which is beyond our control.
Emails and electronic messages sent by VWUK to a client are considered confidential and sent to the intended recipient only. In the event a client receives an email in error, we request that they notify VWUK immediately to correct the error, and request the client then delete the email or electronic message at: Hello@Valentineweddings.co.uk.
COOKIES
Our website and hosting company may use cookies and those cookies may be stored on your computer when you visit our website. If our hosting company implements cookies, they will only collect non-personally identifiable information in order to improve your website usage and browsing experience. Visitors and customers who do not wish to participate with cookies can choose the option to change their browser’s security settings, but this may alter the way our website is accessed and used.

OFFLINE VS. ONLINE POLICY
This Privacy Policy only applies to information we may collect from you online through our website and does not apply to information we may collect from you offline such as: direct mail, trade shows; exhibits; and marketing campaigns. Provisions regarding customer’s personal information: usage; storage; retention; apply to both data received online or offline.
PROMOTIONAL EMAILS
Customers who have an account or register for an account with VWUK give us permission to send them email messages for promotions and sales. This might be a promotional email related to sales or special offers; messages from business partners; responses to requests for more information; or customer support email messages. Customers can opt out or stop receiving promotional emails by clicking the “unsubscribe” hyperlink in the email or send a message to Customer Support. When the customer has unsubscribed from our mailing list, they will also cease to receive any support notices or messages VWUK.
UPDATES and ENQUIRIES
Customers can send VWUK a request to discover or modify any personal information that we may have on file. All such requests must be in writing and identification must be provided as requested by VWUK to verify the identity of the requester. AMENDMENTS

GOVERNING LAW
VWUK’s Privacy Policy and agreements are governed by English Law and the courts of England and Wales without regard to the principles of conflict of laws or choice of law provisions.
